A Content Adapter provides access to a certain type of data. For example, a Content Adapter could provide access to real-time marketdata from a particular datafeed or it might provide access to static reference data of some kind. There can be more than one instance of a particular type of Content Adapter active within a cluster. Having multiple instances provides resource scaling and resilience.
